Job summary

Amazon Leo’s Machining plant in Redmond is hiring a Kitting Specialist to assemble complete production kits, manage tooling, and coordinate with CNC machinists. You will review BOMs, blueprints, and CAD/CAM sheets to ensure flawless kit readiness before production starts.

The role emphasizes lean manufacturing, precise tooling, and ERP/CMMS-based inventory control to minimize downtime and stockouts. This site operates in a fast-paced, start-up like environment with a strong focus on mentorship

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a CNC machine shop, tool crib, or manufacturing kitting environment.
• Ability to read and interpret BOMs, blueprints, and CAD/CAM setup sheets.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

Responsibilities

• Assemble comprehensive production kits containing all raw materials, tooling, gauges, and documentation for CNC work orders.
• Review BOMs, blueprints, and CAD/CAM sheets to ensure perfect component matching before jobs hit the floor.
• Stage completed kits at machining cells to minimize delays between production runs.
• Process job teardowns by returning used kits and logging components into ERP/CMMS; return tooling to stock.
• Pre-assemble cutting tools into tool holders using precision presetter equipment.
• Measure and record tool offsets and update the tooling database or RFID data tags.
• Inspect and maintain fixtures, molds, dies, and workholding equipment.
• Track stock levels of raw materials and components; initiate purchase requisitions.
• Audit tool crib and kitting zones following 5S lean principles.
