Job summary

Friendship Village Kalamazoo is seeking a compassionate and energetic Utility Worker to join our culinary team. This full-time or part-time role performs dishwashing, pot and pan washing, general cleaning, and storing food supplies, with flexible scheduling and no late nights. Starting pay is $15.00 per hour.

• Must be able to read, write and speak English, understand measurements, perform basic arithmetic and follow instructions.
• Experience in bussing, dishwashing, general cleaning or stocking preferred but training will be provided.
• Ability to plan and organize work and interpret instructions.

Responsibilities

• Set up dishes and pot washing areas and maintain dish station.
• Scrape, scrub and prewash pots, pans, utensils and dishes; load and run items through dish machine.
• Help with general kitchen cleaning and stocking as needed.

Friendship Village is seeking a compassionate and energetic individualto join our culinary team as a Utility Worker that performs a number of kitchen activities including dishwashing, pot and pan washing, general cleaning duties, and storing food and non-food supplies. Here’s a snapshot of what you’ll be doing each day as a Utility Worker:

• Sets up dishes and pot washing areas.
• Scrapes, scrubs and prewashes pots, pans, utensils and dishes.
• Loads and runs all items through the dish machine.

• High school diploma preferred. Must have the ability to read, write and speak English, understand measurements, make basic conversions, perform basic arithmetic, and follow basic oral and written instructions.
• Some bussing, dishwashing, general cleaning and/or stocking experience but will train. (Preferred)
• Ability to plan and organize work and to interpret instructions and standards.
