Job summary

A senior living community in Fairhope, Alabama, is seeking a dedicated individual to maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards. Responsibilities include washing dishes, maintaining food storage, and assisting with food service functions. Applicants should have a high school diploma and at least one year of related experience. • Maintain cleanliness of food storage areas.
• Pull frozen meats to be used on following days.
• Keeps temperature checks current throughout the kitchen.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors.
• Assist with buffet set up and special functions.
• Demonstrate positive resident relations and quality care standards.
• Follow sanitation guidelines.

What You Will Do:

• Wash and sanitize all dishes, pots and pans, food carts, and food preparation equipment (including ovens and ranges).
• Empty kitchen garbage/trash and sanitize containers as needed.
• Check-in, unpack, and store dry goods, cleaning supplies, and cold stock.
• Oversee and maintain food storage areas; when necessary, assist in cleaning of food service areas and heavy equipment.
• Pull frozen meats to be used on following days and return unused items to freezer.
• Keeps temperature checks current throughout the kitchen.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors. Maintain cleanliness of all walls in kitchen and serving areas.
• Assist with buffet set up and special functions.
• Demonstrate positive resident relations and facility’s quality care and service standards to residents, families, and guests. Maintain positive, cheerful attitude at all times.
• Follow sanitation guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
