Job summary

The Bristal in West Babylon, NY is seeking a responsible Kitchen Utility Worker/Dishwasher to support the busy kitchen team in a luxury assisted living community. The role focuses on cleaning, prepping, washing dishware, and maintaining hygienic kitchen areas in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy kitchen or food preparation area.
• Able to operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability for strenuous cleaning and lifting.
• Ability to understand English and follow instructions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, prepping and washing dishware, silverware, glassware, pots and pans
• Ensuring chemical dispensers are working and cleaning supplies adequate, using safety equipment per OSHA standards
• Sweeping and mopping floors as directed
• Emptying and cleaning garbage from kitchen to dumpster
• Assisting with heavy lifting
• Daily cleaning of steam kettle, grill, range tops, brazier, stainless steel surfaces, dish racks, dish storage areas, dishwasher and dishwashing area
• Monthly cleaning of all kitchen surfaces, including walls, ceilings, stairs, tables, table legs and appliances
• Assisting in the dining room, removing soiled dishes during meal service and returning them to the kitchen
