Job summary

Pepi Food Service Inc is seeking a kitchen helper in Albany, GA to assist in daily meal prep and homestyle cooking for manufacturing employees. You will chop vegetables, portion meats, assemble salads, and help with grilling, frying, or baking as needed. A clean, safe, and well-organized work area is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training is a bonus but not required.
• At least 1 year of kitchen/food prep experience preferred in a high-volume setting.
• Familiarity with basic cooking techniques and proper kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for daily menu items, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and assembling salads or sides, following standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.
• Assist in the preparation of homestyle meals tailored to the preferences and schedules of manufacturing employees.
• Ensure all food items are prepped in a timely manner to support efficient service during peak dining hours.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area, adhering to Pepi Foods’ Gold Standard kitchen expectations.
• Assist with inventory checks and communicate supply needs to the Dining Center Manager to ensure adequate stock levels.
• Support the kitchen team in basic cooking tasks, such as grilling, frying, or baking, as directed during busy shifts.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards, including HACCP guidelines, to ensure a safe dining environment.
• Adhere to workplace safety protocols, including proper use of kitchen equipment (e.g., knives, slicers, ovens) and PPE.
