Job summary

Mainstream International in Edison, NJ is seeking a Junior to Midlevel Textile Product Designer for onsite work. You will translate direction into production-ready files for mass market textiles including kitchen/tabletop, bedding, and more.

You will coordinate color and print workflows, prepare tech packs, and liaise with overseas vendors, ensuring designs stay aligned from strike offs to lab dips. Portfolio submission required.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in home textiles or mass market design
• Bachelor’s degree in textile-related field
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator on MAC
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Strong experience creating pattern repeats
• Knowledge of printing techniques
• Excellent color eye and composition
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication, digital organization, and time management
• Submit portfolio via PDF or website link

Responsibilities

• Interpret artwork and produce production-ready files, reducing color where needed
• Adjust artwork for construction and printing limitations; select Pantone colors
• Create tech packs with detailed specs for soft textiles
• Prepare pattern repeats with proper alignment and scale
• Review strike offs for color and quality
• Review lab dips and provide feedback to buyers and factories
• Coordinate with overseas vendors (China, India, Pakistan)
• Provide clear art and technical direction to a global team
• Create customer presentation decks and sell sheets across categories
• Conduct market comps in person and online to stay current on trends and color
• Support senior designers with layouts and placement prints in kitchen/tabletop focus
• Contribute to original artwork development and product ideas when suitable
