Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience repairing and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Top Secret Clearance Required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide variety of commercial kitchen equipment and appliances.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial cooking, refrigeration, food preparation, and warewashing equipment.
  • Inspect equipment to identify operational deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, gas-fired, and refrigeration-related equipment issues.
  • Coordinate the procurement of replacement parts, technical manuals, and manufacturer documentation necessary for equipment repairs.
  • Maintain relationships with equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and parts vendors to support maintenance operations.
  • Perform equipment testing and operational verification following maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, and work order data.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with manufacturer specifications, safety requirements, and applicable codes.
  • Support emergency service calls and respond to critical equipment failures as needed.
  • Recommend equipment replacement, modernization, and lifecycle management strategies when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with facility managers, food service personnel, vendors, and maintenance teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Job Description

The Kitchen Equipment Maintenance and Repair Technician will support the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial food service and kitchen equipment in a professional facilities environment. This position is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of mission-essential kitchen equipment, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe and efficient food service operations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in commercial kitchen equipment repair, a proven track record of diagnosing and resolving equipment issues, and the ability to independently manage maintenance activities while coordinating parts procurement and repair resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide variety of commercial kitchen equipment and appliances. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial cooking, refrigeration, food preparation, and warewashing equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requirements.
