Responsibilities

• Learn the food service routine quickly.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the start of shift.
• Observe water temperatures of dishwasher during cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop the kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Store groceries safely and neatly.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen and assist cooks or dietary supervisor as needed.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep and mop floors and maintain them.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing dietary staff training.
• Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
