Job summary

Monarch Communities in Brick Township, NJ seeks a Kitchen Helper to support the culinary team with dishwashing, cleaning, and basic meal preparation. This hourly, non-exempt role offers up to $16 per hour and is available as a part-time position.

You will help ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean, stocked, and ready for service, assist with tray setup, and support servers during meals. No advanced cooking required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior food service, kitchen, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with sanitation standard operating procedures.
• Operate dishwashing equipment and clean, store pots, pans, utensils, and service ware.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and monitor chemical dispensers, remove kitchen trash as needed.
• Assist with meal prep through basic kitchen tasks and tray setup.
• Support servers with side work and setup for each meal service.
• Assist with room service tray delivery and meal cart logistics.
• Assist during meal service by clearing dishes and returning them to the dishwashing station.
• Participate in in-service training and follow regulations and policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
