Job summary

Monarch Communities is seeking a Kitchen Helper in New Jersey to support the culinary team with dishwashing, cleaning, and basic meal prep for residents and guests. The role requires an ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen and follow safety procedures.

The position is full-time (at least 30 hours per week) and pays $16.00–$16.35 hourly. Benefits include health coverage and 401(k) matching options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior food service, kitchen, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with sanitation standard operating procedures.
• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and properly; wash, clean, and store pots, pans, utensils, and other foodservice equipment.
• Maintain adequate cleaning supplies, monitor chemical dispensers, and remove kitchen trash and refuse.
• Support meal preparation through basic kitchen tasks such as washing fruits and vegetables and plating simple desserts.
• Assist servers with side work and setup to ensure dining areas are prepared for service.
• Assist with room service tray delivery and cart movements to satellite kitchens or service areas.
• Assist during meal service by clearing dishes and returning them to the dishwashing station.
• Participate in required in-service training and follow all regulations and community procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
