Join to apply for the Kitchen Supervisor | Full-Time | Carilion Clinic Field role at Oak View Group.

The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for serving guests quality food and beverage following the company’s standard recipes. The Kitchen Supervisor will prepare and cook meats, soups, and sauces and supervise all other aspects of the food and beverage operation. The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for the training of all kitchen staff.

The Kitchen Supervisor must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.

This role pays an hourly rate of $17.00 to $19.00.

This position will remain open until June 6, 2025.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate and supervise the work of kitchen staff.
  2. Demonstrate culinary preparation skills and teach others proper preparation and food presentation.
  3. Assist in controlling food and labor costs.
  4. Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and maintenance meet standards.
  5. Assist with monthly inventory.
  6. Provide high-quality, fresh food products in a timely manner.
  7. Prepare hot and cold foods following recipes and portioning requirements.
  8. Participate as a team player in food preparation, service, and delivery.
  9. Report maintenance needs for kitchen equipment.
  10. Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards.
  11. Ensure foods are cooked properly through observation and testing.
  12. Portion, arrange, and garnish food plates for delivery.
  13. Consult with Executive Chef and Sous Chef on menus and food consumption estimates.
  14. Maintain excellent attendance standards.
  15. Possess culinary training or experience in fast-paced fine dining or catering, with supervisory experience.
  16. Supervise kitchen staff effectively.
  17. Operate standard kitchen equipment (broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, chef's knife).
  18. Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members and guests.
  19. Speak, read, and write in English.
  20. Work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  21. Possess a valid food handling certificate if required by regulations.
