Job summary

Hamilton Hotel seeks an experienced kitchen leader to oversee daily kitchen operations in Washington, DC. You will work on the line during service, assist in ordering, inventory, and ensuring top quality while collaborating with the Chefs on menu execution and special events.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year in a kitchen leadership role in resort or fine dining.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Detail-oriented with focus on quality and consistency.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chefs in the daily operations of the kitchen, including working on the line during service times.
• Assist in ordering supplies and ingredients, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring that all products are of the highest quality.
• Work closely with the Chefs to manage groups and special dinners, ensuring that all culinary needs are met and exceeded.

• Ensure that all kitchen equipment is in proper working order and report any issues to the Chefs for prompt resolution.
• Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for the kitchen, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to excellence.
