Job summary

Hamilton Hotel Washington, D.C. is seeking a dedicated kitchen leader to assist in daily operations, line service, and high-quality food preparation.

You will work closely with the Chefs to manage menus for groups and special dinners, ensure top standards, and uphold a safe, clean kitchen environment. The role requires 1 year in a leadership kitchen position, strong cooking techniques, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced resort or fine dining setting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year in a kitchen leadership role, preferably in resort or fine dining.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a team.
  • Detail-oriented with focus on quality and consistency.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Chefs in daily kitchen operations, including line work during service.
  • Assist in ordering supplies, inventory management, and ensuring top quality products.
  • Collaborate with Chefs to manage groups and special dinners and meet culinary needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and uphold health and safety standards.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is functional; report issues promptly to Chefs.
  • Contribute to developing and implementing standard operating procedures in the kitchen.
  • Lead by example with strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to excellence.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Chefs in the daily operations of the kitchen, including working on the line during service times.
  • Assist in ordering supplies and ingredients, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring that all products are of the highest quality.
  • Work closely with the Chefs to manage groups and special dinners, ensuring that all culinary needs are met and exceeded.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is in proper working order and report any issues to the Chefs for prompt resolution.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for the kitchen, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to excellence.
