Responsibilities

The Kitchen Supervisor provides the overall management of food services and supervision of kitchen staff, ensuring compliance with city, state, and federal laws regarding food handling and preparation within Carol’s Place Safe Haven. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Hiring, scheduling, and evaluating kitchen staff
  • Coordinating purchase, rotation, inventory, and stock maintenance of food and supplies
  • Preparing, cooking (from scratch and following recipes), and serving meals and snacks to residents and children
  • Ensuring quality support and services to clients
  • Creating and implementing operational plans for food services
  • Representing the agency in external food-related inspections
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen, storage, and dining areas
  • Handling pickup, delivery, loading, and unloading of food and supplies, including driving agency vehicles
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience in institutional food preparation and storage
  • 1+ year supervisory experience
  • Valid Driver’s License and passing MVR
  • Knowledge of dietary menu preparation and regulations
  • Valid ServSafe Food Handler and Manager Certifications
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and as part of a team
  • Satisfactory Child Abuse, Criminal, and FBI Clearances
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional culinary or food service education
  • Supervisory experience in food service
  • Bilingual abilities
Skills

Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and food safety skills are essential. Culinary expertise is a plus.

Schedule

Monday — Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM, with on-call responsibilities.

Pay Rate

$35,791.80 - $44,378.10, dependent on education and experience.

Location

Philadelphia, PA.
