Job summary

Spiegelworld is seeking a Kitchen Steward STEX for Superfrico at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. You will help keep kitchens clean, sanitized, and stocked, supporting dish and equipment readiness for a busy dining operation.

The role reports to Restaurant Management with duties across kitchens, dish rooms, and service areas. Union-rate pay of $22.63048/hour applies, and the position requires at least 2 years in kitchen ops, a HS diploma or equivalent, a Food Handler Card, and English proficiency.

Qualifications

About the Role

Spiegelworld is looking for a Kitchen Steward STEX to join the team at Superfrico at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. The Kitchen Steward STEX is responsible for assisting with all stewarding procedures within the kitchens and making sure all dishes and equipment are properly cleaned, sanitized, stored and available for use at all times. The ideal candidate will have the ability to anticipate the needs of others, and work seamlessly between tasks supporting a dining operation that is fun, efficient, and polished without pretense. Ultimately, you’ll ensure we provide excellent guest service by supporting your teammates and keeping the dishes and equipment for the restaurant, bar, and kitchen ready. This position reports to Restaurant Management. The pay is $22.63048 per the union rates.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure all health regulations are maintained through personal practices and following procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of sanitation, dishwashing, maintenance, and safety standards identified by Spiegelworld and government agencies.

• Follow the employee break schedules and attendance policies.
• Understand the proper use of chemicals on property.
• Demonstrate professional grooming and appearance based on company policy.
• Clean and sanitize kitchens and food–beverage service areas.
• Clean, sanitize, and store all china, glass, silverware, and service pieces.
• Perform removal and proper handling of trash, ashes, and grease.
• Perform cleaning, sanitation, and storage of kitchen equipment.
• Perform cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking of bathrooms.
• Perform cleaning and sanitizing of pots and pans.
• Clean and care for all dish machines, beverage machines, and all other service machines.
• Complete daily assignments, checklists, and HACCP requirements.
• Restock kitchen and service inventories.
• Assist with plating food.
• Assist with loading hot and cold transport carts.
• Ensure cleaning and sanitation of transport carts.
• Assist with inventories.
• Assist with dish out stations, break down stations, and returning equipment to kitchens, storerooms, and dish rooms.
• Participate in beverage transport, brewing, and cleaning and sanitation of machinery and equipment.
• Complete assigned checklists and cleaning schedules.
• Perform duties required to support safety, sanitation, health codes, building codes, service, culinary support and cross-department needs.
• Works in all kitchens, dish rooms, service hallway support, and material handling.
• Sets up service trays in back of house (BOH).
• Use personal protective equipment always when required to perform a task correctly.
• Linen receiving and issuance.
• Taking part in pre-service duties and applicable closing duties
• Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What You Bring

• At least two years of related kitchen operations experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Possess the Food Handler Certification Card.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.

• Ability to work effectively with other department employees and guests.
• Full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, policies, and procedures.
• A highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality.
• Must have valid work authorization for the US.
• Successful background check and drug test clearance prior to hire.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled/needed.
• At least 18 years of age.

Preferred:

• Previous experience working in an energetic, hospitality-driven restaurant or nightlife venue.

• Requires eye/hand coordination.
• Able to perform assigned tasks in hot and cold environments that include freezers.
• Able properly use all Stewarding power equipment safely and properly, including clean up and storage.
• Able to work on ladders, step stools, and any other equipment required to perform the assigned task.
