Job summary

Harlem Children’s Zone in New York, NY is seeking an Assistant Dishwasher to join the Promise Academy Kitchen team. You will help maintain a clean, safe, and organized culinary space and support cooks with prep and station setup.

The ideal candidate is reliable, works well in a team, follows food safety procedures, and can stand for long periods while lifting up to 50 pounds. Training and eligibility for NYC DOH certification are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have safety, sanitation and proper food handling knowledge.
• English language and professional communication skills required.
• Ability to take direction and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Store and dry pots and pans in correct areas.
• Clean and sanitize all pots and pans.
• Maintain cleanliness of the pot and pan area.
• Properly store all equipment in the kitchen area.
• Sweep and mop the kitchen, including storage areas.
• Break down kitchen equipment and clean thoroughly.
• Clean the dish machine and racks.
• Remove garbage as needed.
• Sweep and mop the kitchen floor regularly.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms on schedule.
