Job summary

The Heathman Hotel in Portland, OR seeks a Stewarding team member to maintain a clean, organized kitchen and assist with food preparation as needed. This full-time role supports dishwashing operations and ensures equipment and facilities meet sanitary standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include loading dishwashers, hand-washing selected items, storing gear properly, and monitoring machines.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen sanitation is a plus.
• Ability to organize back-of-house areas and assist with food prep as needed.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload dishwashing machines.
• Wash specific items by hand (e.g., wooden cutting boards, large pots, delicate china).
• Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment accordingly.
• Ensure there are enough clean dishes, glasses, and utensils, especially during peak hours.
• Check washing machines’ operation and report any issues promptly.
• Maintain multiple projects and high-priority needs as required.
