Job summary

Proper Hospitality is seeking a Steward to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across kitchens and dining areas, handling dishwashing, waste disposal, and storage organization. You will support the kitchen team to ensure safe, efficient operations and compliance with health regulations.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to cover shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is a plus, but not required.
• Knowledge of basic kitchen safety, food safety, and sanitation procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and glassware to the highest standard.
• Operate dishwashing equipment and ensure proper sanitization of all kitchenware.
• Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, work areas, floors, walls and surfaces.
• Maintain organized dishwashing area and proper storage of clean items.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness of kitchen storage areas and walk-ins.
• Label and organize cleaning supplies and chemicals.
• Stock and organize supplies in designated areas for efficiency.
• Set up and break down kitchen areas for service.
• Dispose of trash and waste per policy and regulations.
• Ensure proper trash/recycling separation and contamination-free storage.
