Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated is seeking a Kitchen Steward to support our kitchen operations by handling dishwashing, cleaning of equipment, and maintaining overall cleanliness. The role focuses on non-cooking duties to ensure a smooth, safe, and compliant kitchen environment.

The successful candidate will understand kitchen equipment, basic chemical handling, and OSHA/health standards, with strong communication skills and flexibility to work varied hours in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of food service work experience is preferred.
• Must be able to complete any classes or certifications required.
• Able to obtain a valid Racing License.

Responsibilities

• Clean kitchen work areas and equipment, sweep and mop floors, and maintain overall kitchen cleanliness.
• Wash dishes by hand or in the dishwasher and clean fryers and vents.
• Report maintenance needs and ensure equipment is in proper working order.
• Stock and maintain cleanliness of team member break areas and beverage stations.
• Ensure safety and security of team members.
