Job summary

Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX is seeking a Garden Restr Steward to wash and sanitize tableware, pans and cooking equipment in a fast-paced restaurant environment. You will also keep the dishwashing areas clean and organized and ensure a steady supply of clean ware for service.

We look for reliable, positive team players who can communicate with kitchen staff, follow directions, and operate the dish machine efficiently.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required.
• Must obtain Food Handlers Certification prior to beginning work.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for cleanliness of dishware and area.
• Load, run and unload the dish machine.
• Keep dish machine clean and report problems.
• Monitor water temperature for sanitary wash cycle.
• Clean and sanitize pots, pans and equipment.
• Wash and store tableware and kitchenware.
• Maintain clean, organized dishwashing area.
• Ensure adequate levels of clean tableware for dining and kitchen.
• Bag and haul trash to dumpster.
• Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage.
• Maintain adequate levels of detergents and cleaning supplies.
• Clean food prep and production areas as required.
• Be available to fill in as needed; attend meetings and follow directions.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
