Able to perform the essential functions of kitchen staff positions on an as-needed basis.

Functions Of The Job
Essential Functions Production
  • Assist with set-up of serving lines daily and ensure all food is held at the required temperature. Stock milk coolers and prepare for service.
  • Assist in food preparation according to the menu plan and Opaa! recipes. Plan and prep for upcoming menus.
  • Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other equipment with proper certification.
  • Maintain neat, clean, and organized work areas.
  • Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas, including equipment and dishes.
  • Keep inventory organized, follow FIFO procedures, and maintain cooler/storage racks.
  • Maintain dishwashing area, monitor chemical usage, and ensure dishes are stored properly.
  • Requisition food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager.
  • Prepare baked goods as per the menu and present them appealingly.
  • Batch cook to ensure quality and presentation.
  • Set up serving/bar lines, ensure food is at proper temperatures, and restock as needed.
  • Serve food with proper sizes and utensils, ensuring quality presentation and hospitality.
  • Maintain serving lines/condiments with food, napkins, silverware, and dishes.
Compliance
  • Prepare foods in compliance with menu and recipes.
  • Follow standardized recipes for consistency.
  • Recognize reimbursable meals and adhere to Meal Pattern regulations.
  • Maintain accurate daily production records.
  • Follow HACCP procedures and record food temperatures.
  • Obey safety rules, report unsafe conditions, and participate in safety programs.
  • Participate in the "Daily Dish" and required training.
  • Promote Opaa!’s Core Values.
  • Comply with timekeeping policies.
Administrative
  • Handle customer payments, make change, and operate POS systems.
  • Complete paperwork, tray counts, and meal reconciliations.
  • Log hours worked and notify shifts absences 24 hours in advance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical/Visual Activities
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, grasping, feeling, tasting, smelling, talking, hearing, reaching.
  • Occasional exertion of over 60 pounds and lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds.
  • Visual abilities include attention, depth perception, color vision.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred; or up to one month related experience or training.

Skills

Ability to read, write, present information, perform basic math, and apply common sense to instructions.

Equipment

Dishwasher, steamer, mixer, oven, stove, fryers, slicer, thermometers, gauges, knives, software, PCs, calculator, phone, copier, printer.
