Functions Of The Job
Essential Functions Production
  • Assist with set-up of serving lines daily and ensure all food is held at the required temperature. Stock milk coolers and prepare for service.
  • Assist in food preparation according to the menu plan and Opaa! recipes. Plan and prep for the next day's menus.
  • Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other equipment with proper certification.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
  • Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas, including equipment and dishes.
  • Organize inventory stock and follow First In/First Out (FIFO) procedures. Keep cooler/storage racks clean.
  • Maintain cleanliness and monitor chemical usage in the dishwashing area. Store clean dishes properly.
  • Requisition food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager.
  • Prepare baked goods and present appealingly.
  • Batch cook to ensure quality and presentation.
  • Set up serving/bar lines, ensuring food is at proper temperatures, and restock as needed.
  • Serve items with proper sizes and utensils, maintaining quality presentation and hospitality.
  • Keep serving lines/condiments stocked with necessary items.
Compliance
  • Follow menu plans and recipes strictly.
  • Use standardized recipes for consistency.
  • Recognize reimbursable meals and follow Meal Pattern regulations.
  • Keep accurate daily production records.
  • Follow HACCP procedures and record food temperatures.
  • Obey safety rules and report unsafe conditions.
  • Participate in safety programs and meetings.
  • Complete annual training hours as required.
  • Promote Opaa!'s Core Values.
  • Maintain compliance with timekeeping policies.
Administrative
  • Handle customer monies and operate POS systems, ensuring only reimbursable meals are processed.
  • Complete paperwork, tray counts, and meal reconciliations daily.
  • Record work hours accurately.
  • Notify supervisors in case of shift coverage issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical/Visual Activities or Demands
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, squat, climb, balance, kneel, crawl, push, pull, grasp, feel, taste, smell, talk, hear, and reach.
  • Occasionally exert over 60 pounds of force; frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include attention, depth perception, and color vision.
Position Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred; or up to one month related experience or training, or equivalent.

Skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and memos.
  • Effective in small group presentations.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpreting graphs.
  • Apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables.
Equipment

Includes dishwasher, steamer/kettle, mixer, oven, stove, fryers, slicer, thermometers, gauges, knives, box cutters, meal software, PCs, calculator, phone, fax, scanner, copier, printer.
