Kitchen Staff Cook

Do you love cooking? Have good customer service skills? Want free meals while on shift? Logan River Academy has a part-time afternoon and weekend shift kitchen staff cook position open now, offering 20+ hours per week.

WHO WE ARE: Logan River Academy is a residential treatment center and fully accredited school for adolescent youth ages 12-18. We help students struggling with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues, including autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, oppositional behavior, bipolar disorder, PTSD, substance abuse, depression, ADHD, impulse control, peer pressure, anger management, self-esteem, grief/loss issues, family relationships, communication, academic struggles, or other setbacks. Our mission is to provide support and structure to help these students make good choices, be successful, and receive the academic and therapeutic help they need.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Energetic entry-level or experienced cook who works well with others and demonstrates patience with adolescents. Bonus if you have a passion for helping others and making a difference in their lives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

1. Prepping and serving meals.
2. Washing dishes after meals.
3. Ensuring the care and cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area, including general cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and taking out garbage.
4. Performing daily deep cleaning during designated hours.
5. Coordinating with coworkers for meal preparation.
6. Communicating with clients to understand their needs while following company guidelines, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and keeping residents occupied.
7. Communicating with staff regarding resident special needs and assignments.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 21 years or older.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Good communication skills: listening, speaking, and collaborating.
• Prefer one-year experience in a commercial kitchen, but training will be provided for the right candidate.

• Ability to pass a background check.
• Physically able to bend, stand, stoop, or sit for long periods.
• Ability to use hands for grasping and manipulation.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
