Job summary

Apploi in New York is seeking qualified full-time day shift kitchen staff to join our dedicated team. You will perform general cleaning and minor maintenance to keep school facilities, equipment, and surroundings clean, orderly, and functional while assisting staff and visitors as needed.

Responsibilities include serving customers, processing orders and payments, maintaining daily cleanliness, handling utensils, some cooking, and adhering to safety rules.

Qualifications

• Experience in similar kitchen or cleaning roles preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.
• Ability to lift 15–25 pounds as part of daily duties.
• Willingness to work in varied weather conditions.
• Comfortable working in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Receives orders from Supervisor.
• Providing excellent customer service
• Processing orders quickly and accurately
• Maintaining cleanliness and service standards daily
• Process orders and enter them accurately into the system
• Receive payment from the customer and process change
• Ensure that the work area is clean throughout the day
• Clean equipment and utensils, removes trash, sweep and mop work area, dust and clean.
• Performs work according to standard procedure and by building's operational schedule.
• Cleaning dishes, some cooking
• Other duties as assigned
• Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.

Qualifications:

• The skills and knowledge required would generally be obtained with previous experience
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions.
• Ability to relate to officials, staff and public in a courteous manner.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing from 15 to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
