Job summary

Pomegranate Market in Sioux Falls, SD, is seeking a Bistro Shift Lead to oversee kitchen and bistro operations during shifts when the Prepared Foods Manager is off-site. You’ll ensure consistent food quality, supervise team members, and uphold food safety and company standards.

You’ll lead by example, jump into prep, cooking, service, or dishes as needed, and coordinate with the Prepared Foods Manager to keep service running smoothly during peak hours.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, deli, or food service experience required.
• Prior leadership or shift-lead experience strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to stay calm, organized, and decisive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling (including some evenings and weekends).

Responsibilities

• Act as the manager on duty for kitchen operations during assigned shifts.
• Direct, support, and motivate kitchen and bistro staff to ensure smooth service.
• Assign tasks, manage workflow, and adjust staffing or priorities as needed.
• Serve as the first point of contact for team questions, issues, or guest concerns.
• Ensure food is prepared consistently according to recipes and quality standards.
• Monitor food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness throughout the shift.
• Oversee prep, cooking, holding, and service to maintain speed and accuracy.
• Step into hands-on roles (prep, cooking, service, dishes) as needed.
