Job summary

The San Antonio Food Bank INC seeks a skilled Kitchen Associate II to join its high-volume production team. You will independently perform a broad range of kitchen tasks, following approved recipes and safety standards, under Kitchen Leads and Kitchen Managers.

Qualifications

• Two years+ of relevant high-volume food service or institutional kitchen experience.
• Ability to independently follow standardized recipes and accurately measure/portion food.
• Ability to work across multiple kitchen stations and recognize food safety, quality, and production discrepancies.
• Experience documenting production tasks or ability to learn production records/electronic systems.
• Ability to obtain required food handler training/certification within the employer timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, portion, assemble, package, and label meals across stations per recipes and production specs.
• Operate and maintain proficiency with commercial kitchen equipment; follow safe setup, use, cleaning, and shutdown procedures.
• Verify station readiness, ingredients, recipe yields, portions, counts, packaging and labels; identify errors before products move on.
• Identify workflow delays, shortages, quality concerns, and waste; address routine issues and escalate as needed.
• Support accurate completion of station production records, temperature logs, sanitation checks, and documentation.
