Job summary

The St. Joe Company in Watersound, FL is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support dishwashing and maintain cleanliness in a fast-paced kitchen.

Location at WaterSound Beach Club – Watersound, FL 32461, full-time position. Responsibilities include assisting the Cook with meal prep, sanitizing prep areas, washing and storing utensils, sweeping and mopping floors, unloading deliveries, organizing food, labeling coolers, and performing weekly deep cleans.

Qualifications

• Sufficient education and literacy to identify and read product labels and communicate with guests about job-related needs.
• Experience in kitchen or stewarding preferred.
• Food handlers’ license/certification may be acquired after employment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Cook with the preparation of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, vegetables, poultry, and meat
• Properly cleaning and sanitizing all food preparation areas according to established standards of hygiene
• Washing and appropriately storing all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes
• Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floors as well as wiping down kitchen walls
• Assisting with the unloading of delivered food supplies
• Organizing and correctly storing food supplies
• Promptly transferring meal ingredients from storage areas to the kitchen as per the Cook's instructions
• Maintain a clean and organized cooler with proper labeling methods for its contents
• Performing a weekly deep clean to ensure cleanliness and sanitization of area
• Removing and disposing trash
• All other duties as assigned
