Job summary

Upper Crust Food Service is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to support the culinary team under the Head Chef and Sous Chef. You’ll help with food prep, keep the kitchen and dining area clean and sanitary, stock supplies, and assist with deliveries.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating teamwork, reliability, and a strong focus on safety and customer-facing professionalism.

Qualifications

• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Understand various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills under pressure.
• Be familiar with industry best practices.
• Pass a background check.
• Have a valid food safety handler and sanitation certification per state/local regulations (or obtain within 30 days).
• High school or vocational coursework in kitchen basics such as food safety is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food as directed by Head Chef and Sous Chef.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining area.
• Wash kitchen utensils, equipment and dishes.
• Stock supplies in serving stations and storage areas.
• Assist in unloading and putting away deliveries.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers.
• Sort and remove trash to designated pickup areas.
• Communicate with management via calls, emails, and texts.
