Job summary

DO & CO in New York is seeking a motivated Kitchen Helper to support our high-volume kitchen operations. You will assist chefs and cooks with daily prep, portion ingredients, and help with plating during production and service, contributing to consistent quality.

Qualifications

• Previous food and beverage or kitchen experience preferred.
• Familiarity with basic kitchen operations.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen with deadlines.
• Willingness to stand for extended periods and work varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs and cooks with daily operations in a high-volume kitchen.
• Support preparation of hot and cold meals according to recipes and standards.
• Wash, peel, chop, dice and portion vegetables and ingredients.
• Assist with sauces, salads, marinades, and meal components.
• Support plating and assembly during production and service.
• Ensure stations are stocked and organized; receive deliveries when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety across workspaces.
• Report concerns to management and follow safety procedures.
