Job summary

Volunteers of America-Colorado Branch is seeking a Kitchen Coordinator in Denver to prepare, heat, and serve meals for the Theodora Family Hotel program. You will follow standardized recipes, manage portions, and ensure food safety and quality in a high-volume setting.

Responsibilities include meal plating, tracking, ordering supplies, and supervising volunteers as needed. This role requires strong teamwork, reliability, and adherence to sanctions and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write, following standardized recipes and production sheets.
• Ability to perform basic kitchen mathematical calculations.
• Clear and respectful communication with staff, volunteers, clients, and vendors.
• Experience in cooking or similar production facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares precooked meals from the ANS kitchen, ensuring correct serving temperature.
• Plates and serves meals for a high volume of individuals with quality presentation.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and follow sanitation policies.
• Track meals served and input into meal tracking systems.
• Order food and kitchen supplies weekly from VOA kitchen.
• Direct or assist volunteers or temporary staff as assigned.
