Job summary

The Belfast Community Co-op is looking for a Kitchen Manager to lead our production team in Belfast, Maine. The role focuses on food production, recipe development, and executing strategic plans to improve margins and sales.

You will manage staff development, scheduling, ordering, and ensure strict food safety standards. This is a full-time position (30+ hours weekly) with weekend, early morning, and evening availability.

Qualifications

• Experienced leader with food production expertise.
• Skilled in recipe development and strategic planning.
• Proven ability to plan production, develop staff, and hit margin/sales goals.
• Experience with scheduling, ordering, and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, scheduling, ordering, and production.
• Recruit, train, and supervise all kitchen staff; ensure food safety standards.
• Develop department programming and maintain strong product mix.
• Monitor sales and margins; optimize inventory and reduce waste.
• Open/close responsibilities and maintain customer-friendly environment.
