Belfast Community Co-op is seeking a Prepared Foods Manager to lead the department including kitchen, bakery, cheese, and specialty foods. The role focuses on programming, menu development, margin goals, and staffing across multiple sub-departments.

The position requires overseeing production, ensuring food safety, and managing financial performance. The winning candidate will collaborate with the Operations Manager to plan for growth and maintain an inviting cafe environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience in a grocery or prepared foods setting.
• Experience developing department programming and menus.
• Strong merchandising sense with margin and sales awareness.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and certifications.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and departments within a team.
• Experience hiring, training, and supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Prepared Foods, Cheese, and Bakery departments to ensure stock, cleanliness, freshness, and inviting presentation.
• Hire, train, and supervise department staff; manage scheduling within labor budgets.
• Develop and implement department programming; monitor margins and product mix by category.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and collaborate with Facilities for equipment upkeep.
• Open the store as scheduled and uphold Key Holder responsibilities.
