Job summary

Ascension Coffee Company is seeking a Café Kitchen Manager to support the Café GM in hiring, training, scheduling, and leading the BOH team. You will monitor food safety, control costs, and ensure quality across recipes and build sheets in a fast-paced café.

This role requires availability nights and weekends, reliable transport to all locations, and a hands-on leader who can coach staff, uphold standards, and drive guest satisfaction in line with brand guidance.

Qualifications

• Restaurant kitchen operations experience required.
• Food and Beverage Manager certification.
• Reliable transportation, able to travel to all locations.
• Able to work nights and weekends.
• Strong teambuilding skills, clear communication.
• Great organizational skills, problem solving ability, and intuitive resourcefulness.
• High initiative and self-management skills, willing to take direction.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, ~8 hours each workday.

Responsibilities

• Track kitchen financials: food cost, labor cost, and inventory.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
• Oversee back-of-house operations and train/manage BOH team.
• Drive financial success through leadership and coaching.
• Meet deadlines for ordering, inventory, invoices, and scheduling.
• Maintain excellence for all food received, prepared, held, and presented.
• Adhere to recipes and build sheets to maintain quality.
• Maintain clean, safe workspace; ensure equipment works; support GM budget.
• Order food accurately to prevent waste and ensure availability.
• Implement brand standards as directed.
• Participate in special events and off-site catering.
• Be coachable: accept and apply feedback promptly.

About the role

OurCaféKitchenManageris responsible forsupporting the Café General Manager inall aspects of operations within their café including,but not limited to hiring, training, scheduling, team leadership, inventory management, profit and loss, hospitality, and food safety.Thisindividual mustmaintainthe highest commitment to quality with a demonstrated collaborative approach.The CaféKitchenManageris responsible fordrivingexceptional standards in food preparation and presentationasestablishedby the Director of Culinary.This role requiresat least45 hoursper work weekincafé.This position is not remote.** Salary commensurate with experience.**
