Job summary

Tigg's Canteen Services is seeking a Kitchen Manager to oversee the Miami County Jail kitchen in Peru, Indiana. This full-time role requires leadership to manage daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure meals are prepared safely and to company standards in a structured setting.

You will follow recipes, enforce portion control, monitor inventory, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen while supporting a positive team culture in a correctional environment. Weekend/holiday shifts apply.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills.
• Can work effectively in a secure, structured correctional environment.
• Can read and follow company recipes, policies, and procedures.
• Is able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Tigg's Canteen Services is seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Kitchen Manager to oversee daily food service operations at the Miami County Jail in Peru, Indiana. As Kitchen Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring meals are prepared safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. You'll supervise daily kitchen operations, support your team, and help maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to obtain security clearance for entry into the correctional facility.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule.
• Flexible to work the following schedule:
  • Monday-Saturday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Sunday: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
• Previous food service, kitchen, or supervisory experience is preferred, but we are willing to train a motivated candidate with the right attitude and leadership potential.
