Job Description
The Kitchen Manager provides healthy meals for BKATC students and live‑in staff and maintains a safe, clean kitchen in compliance with all applicable regulations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a state‑approved Food Handler’s License (preferred; training will be provided).
- Report to the Food Services Manager.
- Serve as a minister to students in the program.
- Work with other departments to comply with all regulations and TCUSA Accreditation Standards.
- Participate in campus events and chapels as required.
- Prepare meals for the students.
- Maintain a clean kitchen that meets or exceeds all state standards.
- Order supplies and maintain an adequate inventory.
- Create healthy menus appropriate for students, including those with dietary issues.
- Serve the food.
- Supervise staff using a check‑off list, mentor, and interact with residents during activities such as work periods, free time, and recreational activities.
- Administer discipline as necessary according to BKATC policies.
- Minister to students as opportunities arise or during scheduled sessions.
- Become a mentor to students.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Services Manager or Program Manager.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Maintain a state‑approved Food Handler’s License.
- ServeSafe Manager certification (will provide training).
- Ministry experience.
- Teen Challenge Graduate.
