Job summary

Teen Challenge in Montgomery, TX is seeking a Full-time Kitchen Cook PM to prepare healthy meals for adolescent students and live-in staff, and to maintain a safe, clean kitchen in compliance with health regulations.

You will assist Direct Care in the evenings after meals and, as a minister to students, lead prayer and engage in religious instruction while ensuring adherence to Texas DFPS/COGNIA standards and campus activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• State approved Food Handlers license preferred.
• Ministry or faith‑based experience preferred.
• Ability to prepare meals and serve students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for adolescent students and live-in staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen in compliance with health regulations.
• Lead prayer and provide religious instruction as needed.
• Assist Direct Care in the evenings after meals.
• Coordinate with other departments to meet Texas DFPS/COGNIA standards.
• Participate in campus events and chapels.
• Manage inventory and assist with menu planning.
• Provide supervision and mentoring in Direct Care when required.

Job Description

Full-time Kitchen Cook PM provides healthy meals for Adolescent students and live-in staff as well as maintains safe, clean, kitchen, in compliance with all applicable regulations. Assists Direct Care as needed in the evening after meals served.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED

Maintain a state approved Food Handlers license preferred qualifications

Direct Care: supervision (following staff check off list responsibilities when needed, mentoring, and interacting with residents during various activities, which may include but is not limited to online school, TC curriculum, work periods, free time, and recreational activities

administer discipline as is necessary according to Thrive policies

minister to students as opportunity arises and/or during scheduled sessions

all other duties as assigned by Director and Program Manager or Program Coordinator
