Job summary

Casa Esperanza, Inc. is seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead daily meal preparation for up to 75 guests, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires following the daily menu, organizing workloads, stocking supplies, and supervising kitchen staff to deliver three meals per day plus healthy snacks. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of kitchen management experience, ability to lift 25–50 pounds, and familiarity with Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of food preparation and kitchen management experience serving 75+ guests per meal.
• Ability to meet physical requirements and training requirements of the position.
• Ability to lift 25–50 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Follow guidelines and work independently; cover for other cooks as needed.
• Follow daily menu and organize workload; cook from scratch.
• Serve and store food according to health and safety standards.
• Stock supplies on delivery; handle fresh produce and pantry items.
• Perform quality control on food leaving the kitchen.
• Coordinate purchasing to meet demand for three meals per day and snacks for up to 75 individuals.

Casa Esperanza, Inc. is a bilingual/bicultural behavioral health treatment provider serving Boston and the Merrimack Valley. What you'll do

• As kitchen manager, you should be able to follow guidelines and work independently when required and to cover for other cooks when needed.
• Ability to follow the daily menu and prepare and organize the workload to efficiently cook, including cooking from scratch.
• Serving and storing food in accordance with health and safety standards
• Stocking food supplies when delivered, including fresh produce, dry goods, canned goods, spices, and pantry items, accordingly
• Performing quality control on food leaving the kitchen
• Requesting inventory items to keep up with demand
• 1-year minimum experience cooking for several people. Be able to cook and prepare a variety of foods.
• Experience working and safely use all kitchen equipment and supplies.
• Ability to organize and coordinate the purchase of food, supplies, and equipment needed to prepare 3 meals per day and make healthy snacks available for up to 75 individuals.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of food preparation and kitchen management experience, preparing meals for 75+ guests per meal.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements and training requirements of the position.
• Ability to lift repetitively from 25 to 50 pounds.
• Experience preparing Latin American cuisine is preferred.
• SERV Safe certified or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Participates in regular training about nutrition and healthy meal preparation.
• Cooking Experience Min: 1 year (Required)
• Fluent in Spanish (Preferred)
• Whole Foods : A significant portion of our food is fresh, but also we have food coming out of packaging and/or boxes premade .
• Menu Fluidity : Seasonality drives the menu, resulting in daily or weekly changes based on what’s fresh and at peak flavor.
• Customization : Since everything is made from scratch, there’s flexibility to tailor dishes to dietary restrictions.
• Craftsmanship : Culinary skills and techniques shine through, reflecting the team’s expertise in the kitchen.

Job Type

Full-Time – Availability 7 Days a Week from 6am to 2pm
