The Kitchen Manager is responsible for executing the operations of the kitchen, ensuring prompt and high-quality meal service. Under the direction of and in collaboration with the Executive Chef, the Kitchen Manager oversees the daily dining experience at our Asheville campus, focusing on good nutrition and community. The role includes administrative tasks such as menu planning and staffing.

Location:

Asheville, NC

Schedule:
  • Monday – Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
  • Potential weekend coverage for vacation coverage
Pay:

Starting at $44,000, with increases based on experience

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare a Mediterranean-inspired menu emphasizing fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meats, seafood, and vegetarian options
  • Collaborate with the Integrative Wellness Specialist on weekly menus and dietary needs
  • Hire, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff
  • Communicate between kitchen and other departments
  • Maintain inventory of food and non-food items
  • Provide safety education and training for kitchen staff
  • Support Sous Chefs in meal preparation and timeliness
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is operational
  • Meet cleaning, Serve-Safe certification, and health code standards
  • Support special event accommodations
Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts or 3-5 years of culinary experience
  • Experience in a commercial kitchen with health and safety oversight
  • Supervision experience preferred
  • Commitment to diversity and an inclusive environment
