Job summary

McMenamins Spar Café in Olympia, WA is hiring a KAAM (Kitchen Assistant-Assistant Manager) to assist in all kitchen operations under the Chef/Manager. The role includes opening/closing duties, supervising the shift, and maintaining excellent customer relations in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates have high-volume cooking experience and some supervisory exposure, with flexibility for day/evening/weekend shifts.

Qualifications

Previous high-volume cooking experience is required.
Previous supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays preferred.
Enjoy working in a busy customer service-oriented environment.
Ability to effectively lead others in a positive and professional manner.

Responsibilities

Assist in all kitchen operations under the guidance of the Chef/Manager and cover opening/closing duties.
Oversee the smooth and effective running of the shift and provide excellent customer relations.
Work indoors or outdoors seasonally and help regulate labor and food costs.
Train staff, manage side work, cleaning duties, and report issues to management.
