Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Technician to perform full KEC services on commercial kitchen systems, including setup, containment, pre-scrape, power washing, and final cleanup. You will ensure NFPA 96 compliance and deliver thorough, accurate documentation while safeguarding client facilities.

This role requires independent work, a clean driving record, and physical ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in commercial cleaning as a KEC apprentice or KEC technician.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on jobs.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license if driving role.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete KEC services including setup and teardown of containment including hanging plastic sheeting, setting up ladders, wet/dry vacuums, hoses, pre-sprayers, mixing chemicals, and high-pressure washing equipment.
• Pre-scrape grease buildup and power wash hoods, ducts, filters, and exhaust fans to NFPA 96 standards.
• Perform final cleanup and restore kitchen environments to operational condition.
• Protect customer facilities, appliances, and surrounding areas during all service activities.
• Identify deficiencies, hazards, or non-compliant conditions and document findings.
