AVAILABLE: Immediately

SHIFT: 3.5-4.0 hours per day, Monday - Friday when school is in session and meals are served, August - May

COMPENSATION: $14.26 per hour

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or GED
• Ability to work cooperatively with all employees, students and parents
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Familiar with and/or capable of learning cash register operation (Meal Magic)
• Punctual and excellent attendance record
• Good organizational skills with the ability to plan ahead and keep track of multiple tasks
• Ability to work independently, efficiently, and accurately under tight time constraints
• Knowledge of Health Department Regulations for safe food handling and sanitation
• Knowledge of School Food Service basics preferred
• Familiar with and/or capable of learning to cook and do production records for backup purposes
• Patient and welcoming toward children
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, including bending, twisting, pushing and pulling carts, standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 40 pounds on a regular basis

Major Responsibilities:

• Assist and/or operate all kitchen equipment as needed
• Assist with food preparation
• Help serve breakfast and fill breakfast bags as needed
• Help serve or cashier during lunch periods
• Assist with putting away food/supply deliveries
• Capable of completing all general kitchen duties efficiently, including preparation, serving, clean up, washing pots and pans, washing dishes, putting stock away
• Complete production records as needed
• Learn the operation to be able to fill in for the manager in the event of an occasional absence
• Any other duties which may be assigned.
