Job summary

Parkwest Casino is seeking a Kitchen Helper in the Food & Beverage department. The role supports kitchen staff with food preparation, plating, and setup for daily menus and special events. Must be 21+, able to pass a background check and drug test, and hold a California Food Handler Card.

Flexible schedule including weekends and evenings, full-time position. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, assist cooks, and help maintain orderly prep and service stations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks (chopping, peeling, slicing).
• Wash, peel, and cut fruits, vegetables, and meats.
• Dice and cut ingredients for sauces, soups, gravies, stews.
• Set up work stations and ingredients per recipes.
• Prepare simple dishes such as salads and entrees.
• Label and stock ingredients on shelves.
• Coordinate with Butcher for product quality and freshness.
• Support Cooks and kitchen staff as needed; provide items as required.
• Move food supplies and utensils to storage and work areas.
• Help prepare and carve meats for buffet and banquet lines.
• Prepare daily setup for menus and specials.

Parkwest Bicycle Casino is seeking a Kitchen Help in the Food & Beverage department. Kitchen Help will assist in preparing and serving/plating the food by performing the following duties and responsibilities below.

Responsibilities

• Assist the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping, peeling, and slicing ingredients.
• Washes, peels, and cuts various foods, such as fruits and vegetables, meats or other meal prep.
• Dices and cuts food necessary for preparation of sauces, soups, gravies and stews.
• Set up work stations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
• Prepare simple dishes such as salads and entrees.
• Labels and stocks all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.
• Maintains contact with the Butcher for the qualify and freshness of products.
• Assists Cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed; and provides cooks with needed items.
• Carry food supplies, equipment and utensils to and from storage and work areas.
• Helps prepare and carve all meats for buffet and Banquet lines.
• Prepares all the set-up requirements for daily menu and specials.
• Prepares pizza with toppings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass mandatory screening including a background check and drug test.
• Must possess a California Food Handler Card.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and co-workers.
• Able to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
• Available for full time work including weekends and evening scheduling; and ready for all programs and activities. Able to work varied shifts and flexible schedules.

Education / Experience:

• No specific education required. High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• One-two years' experience in kitchen of comparable quality preferred but not required.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and carry tools, supplies, and inventory up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation.
