Job summary

Union Square Cafe in New York is seeking a Kitchen Extern to join our seasoned kitchen team. You will support line cooks, help set up stations, and learn through hands-on training in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven environment.

You should have culinary education and be able to stand for long periods. English fluency is preferred, and additional languages are welcome. Pay is hourly and commensurate with experience.

• Experience in a kitchen environment through education.
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods.
• English fluency; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Consistently support a culture of Enlightened Hospitality
• Refine techniques and continually learn and grow
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and embody teamwork
• Assist line cooks in preparing components for their stations for service and learn to set-up a station independently
• Receive, label, and store market deliveries
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and operational success
