Job description

Kitchen Director

Chick-fil-A Hillcrest Shopping Center | Full-Time

We're looking for a Kitchen Director who brings enthusiasm, energy, and a people-first approach to leading our back-of-house (BOH) team. This hands-on leader will help deliver safe, high-quality food in a clean, organized kitchen while developing team members and taking ownership of results.

Our team lives out our R.I.G.H.T. Values: Reliability, Integrity, Grit, Humility, and Team. We're looking for someone who models these values daily, leads by example, and creates an environment where people feel supported, challenged, and excited to contribute.

What You'll Do
  • Lead with enthusiasm: Bring positive energy to the kitchen, encourage team members, celebrate progress, and help the team stay focused during busy shifts.
  • Model our R.I.G.H.T. Values: Demonstrate Reliability, Integrity, Grit, Humility, and Team in your decisions, communication, and leadership.
  • Manage inventory: Oversee ordering, inventory counts, product rotation, and stock levels to support daily operations and reduce waste.
  • Lead food safety: Train, coach, and hold the team accountable for food safety standards and procedures.
  • Maintain BOH cleanliness: Lead cleaning routines and ensure the kitchen stays clean, organized, and ready for service.
  • Support scheduling: Assist with BOH scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage for business needs.
  • Maintain equipment: Coordinate routine maintenance, identify equipment concerns, and follow through on repairs.
  • Build team depth: Identify and communicate staffing, skill, and leadership coverage needs. Partner with the Training Director to develop team members to meet those needs.
  • Lead food cost performance: Review food cost reports, set goals, and lead the team toward achieving them through portion accuracy, waste reduction, and inventory control.
  • Manage the kitchen supplies budget: Monitor spending and maintain adequate supplies within budget.
  • Lead while serving: Work alongside the team, communicate priorities, and support consistent food quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
What You'll Bring
  • Previous kitchen leadership experience.
  • An enthusiastic leadership style that motivates others and builds teamwork.
  • A commitment to our R.I.G.H.T. Values:
  • Reliability: Follow through on commitments and be someone the team can count on.
  • Integrity: Do the right thing, the right way, every time.
  • Grit: Work through challenges with determination and a focus on solutions.
  • Humility: Welcome feedback, keep learning, and serve alongside your team.
  • Team: Put shared success first and help others grow.
  • Strong organization, communication, and follow-through.
  • A commitment to food safety, cleanliness, and quality.
  • The ability to coach team members and hold them accountable with respect.
  • The ability to review reports, manage budgets, and turn goals into daily actions.
  • The ability to prioritize and lead in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Chick-fil-A experience is a plus, but it is not required.
Schedule Requirements

This is a full-time role requiring morning, evening, and Saturday availability (Sundays OFF). You will need flexibility to be able to check in with both morning and evening teams in order to ensure our kitchen is running as effectively as possible. You will have a team of Shift Leaders and Specialists (trainers) under your direct supervision to aid and support in accomplishing this.

Benefits

We value the commitment our leaders bring to the team and offer:

  • Competitive pay
  • Paid time off (PTO)
  • Insurance benefits
  • Meal discounts
  • Leadership and Growth Opportunities
  • Scholarship Opportunities
