Job summary

Home Surplus in New Jersey is seeking a Kitchen Designer to turn customer dreams into reality and boost store sales. You may start as a Design Associate or Senior Designer, with room to grow as you demonstrate design excellence and customer care.

Youll use 2020 Design to create layouts, help clients select options within budget, and deliver accurate quotes while managing orders to keep projects on track. A warm, consultative style will build trust and referrals.

Qualifications

• Experience using 2020 Design or similar design software.
• Knowledge of kitchen fixtures and basic residential construction.
• Strong listening, organization, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
• Enjoys consultative selling to help customers pick the best options.

We’re looking for a Kitchen Designer to help customers bring their dream kitchens to life while boosting sales. Depending on your experience, you may start as a Design Associate or Senior Designer — and there’s plenty of room to grow.

What You’ll Do

• Use 2020 design software to create kitchen layouts
• Help customers find options that fit their budget, style, and needs
• Provide accurate quotes, manage orders, and keep projects on track
• Follow up with customers and close sales
• Deliver a warm, consultative experience that builds trust and referrals

What We’re Looking For

• Experience with 2020 Design or similar
• Knowledge of kitchen fixtures + basic residential construction
• Great listener, organized, reliable, and detail-focused
• Strong communication skills (bilingual English/Spanish is a plus)
• Enjoys consultative selling to help customers make the best choices
• Able to work retail hours, including some Saturdays
