Kitchen Clerk (Food Services)

Our Massapequa store is actively seeking a PT Kitchen Clerk to assist in the preparation of delicious dishes in the kitchen. You will perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, mixing and blending, and preparing dishes, sides, and sauces according to store recipes.

A great prep clerk will be quick, diligent, and willing to improve on the job. You will be detailed, able to follow instructions, and adhere to all health and safety rules within the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as part of a team.

Responsibilities

1. Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
2. Label and stock all ingredients on shelves for organization and easy access
3. Measure ingredients and seasonings for cooking
4. Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.
5. Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food, etc.
6. Prepare simple dishes such as salads and entrees
7. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash
8. Ensure all food and items are stored properly
9. Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
10. Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fast-paced industrial kitchen environment
• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
• Manual dexterity to operate cutting tools and utensils
