Job summary

Hayward Lumber in San Luis Obispo is seeking an Outside Sales Representative focused on Kitchen & Bath Cabinet Design to grow our cabinetry business. You will design solutions, prepare quotes, advise on materials and pricing, and build strong customer relationships to drive sales.

The role involves frequent customer site visits, project tracking, and ensuring timely delivery, backed by knowledge of the lumber industry, local codes, and market dynamics.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years inside sales, design and/or showroom experience.
• Experience with 2020 Cabinet Design Software is a plus.
• Understanding of remodeling and local building codes is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Results-driven and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Create custom designs for customers using 2020 Cabinet Design Software, ensuring installation notes are captured.
• Manage and maintain sales quote and order pipelines in BisTrack.
• Identify and develop sales leads and follow up to close sales.
• Use persuasive selling to promote cabinet features and products.
• Maintain documentation of customer activity and sales process.
• Document and update pipeline reports weekly.
• Stay current with market trends and competitor developments.
• Submit accurate order forms and supporting documentation.
• Collect deposits and payments as required.
• Adhere to Hayward’s safety standards.
