Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System in Largo, MD is seeking a food service helper to clean and sanitize workstations, set up sinks per HAACP guidelines, and ensure timely storage of deliveries. The role emphasizes dating of food, temperature adherence, and overall sanitation within the kitchen and storage areas.

The position requires up to 6 months related experience; preferred candidates hold a High School Diploma/GED.

Qualifications

• 1-6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: High School Diploma/GED

Responsibilities

• Pull and empty trash containers throughout the shift.
• Distributes supplies, utensils, and equipment needed by kitchen staff
• Maintain all coolers and walk-ins for cleanliness and organization of products
• Make sure all recycling vessels are utilized correctly, and dumpster area maintained according to department guidelines
• Set all sanitizer and soap buckets on workstations throughout kitchen
• Proper use of automatic chemical dispenser to obtain cleaning products for kitchen and retain areas
• Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements
• Performs other duties and functions as assigned
