Job summary

Lutheran Social Service MN's Camp Knutson in Crosslake, MN is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support dining operations for campers, staff and visitors. You will assist with food prep, service, and safety under supervision of Food Service Managers.

Responsibilities include food preparation, assisting with special diets, dishwashing, labeling foods, following recipes, and delivering friendly service in a busy camp environment.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation including but not limited to prepare, pan and cook food as directed, set up salad bar, and restocking supplies.
• Assist with dietary needs of guests with special diets.
• Clean up following meal will include properly storing and labeling all food.
• Cleaning dishes and kitchen includes but not limited to cleaning flat surfaces after every meal, pots, pans and food dishes, removal of garbage and sweep and mop the floors.
• Ability to relate to youth and adults in a positive manner
• Understand and utilize Food Safety skills
• Be able to mark / label foods properly
• Ability to follow basic recipes, use measurement tools when appropriate
• Utilize good problem solving and customer service skills
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill in assigned job duties under training, guidance, supervision of Food Service Managers
