Job summary

CAPITOL REGION EDUCATION COUNCIL is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support breakfast and lunch service at CREC food service sites. Under supervision, you will help with meal prep, serving, cash handling, and clean-up, with daily assignments driven by menus and activity levels.

The role requires a high school diploma and food service experience; ServSafe certification is desirable. Candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs, operate kitchen equipment safely, and communicate effectively with staff

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; food service experience preferred.
• ServSafe/Certified Food Protection Manager desirable.
• Nutrikids System experience is a plus.
• Proficient computer skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily preparation of breakfasts and lunches, catering activities, and related items.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Provide cashiering services and support serving lines.
• May supervise students in the feeding area as needed.
• Maintain production and service records as directed.
